The Mathematical Board Game BEDMAS® Strikes the Market

Toronto, Canada (August 10, 2002) -- Alagan Design, a Toronto-based board game and toy development company, today announced general availability of the mathematical board game BEDMAS®. BEDMAS® is designed to satisfy mathematically challenging minds. It will entertain and educate the whole family. Furthermore, it is also an excellent educational tool.

Each game box is good for 2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up and is formulated into 3 levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Every turn, each player forms an equation on the tile bar using the number tiles of random values. Use of the power of the Base 10 numbering system, the order of operations known as BEDMAS®, and our outstanding innovations provides the players the highest quality play time.

In almost every other board game available in the market, luck and knowledge together define the winner. However in the game of BEDMAS, luck has no value at all. Only knowledge defines the winner.

One of the most innovative elements of the game is the position of the Controller™. One after the other, each player acts as the Controller for an equal number of turns. The Controller controls each turn lapse-time, and consequently adding a full scale of tension and excitements among the players.

In most existing games, running out of tiles, reaching a specific point or similar situations bring the game to end and forces the players to restart the game if they want to continue. On the other hand, BEDMAS® allows the players to play as long as they want to. There is no end to BEDMAS®.

Alagan Design originated in Ottawa and currently resides in Toronto. The company will continue to design, develop, and market the highest quality games and toys. Alagan Design, in addition to its own in-house design and manufacturing processes, obtains supplies and services from qualified companies from Canada, USA and China.

BEDMAS is currently available at company's web site and will be available in stores near you in the near future. For more information, please visit the company's website at www.alagan.com

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (April 22, 2003) -- Alagan Design is proud to announce that its flagship mathematical board game, BEDMAS, has won a very prestigious toy industry award. The National Parenting Center, a Woodland Hills, California, USA based independent toy testing company, selected BEDMAS® to receive its Seal of Approval (2003) award under the Educational Products category.

The National Parenting Center (TNPC) was created in 1989 and helps to create better informed parents as they tackle the challenges of parenting. Its Seal of Approval program is an independent testing procedure conducted to judge a variety of products introduced and marketed to the parent/child consumer market.

The National Parenting Center's evaluation says "If you have ever looked at a set of numbers and seen a pattern or an equation hidden in the numerals, then you will instantly be hooked by BEDMAS. The underlying theme of the game is to open up your mind and to think about numbers creatively. This novel approach is nicely packaged in a game that is easy to learn and yet challenging for all. There are rule adjustments that you can make for different skill levels. This is a game that would work well at workstations in elementary school classrooms."
